LG flip phone data recovery with Sim card PUK lock.
Today 23/07/2020 we received an old LG flip phone, model TU550 data recovery , with a PUK lock message on the startup screen. Customer needs photos and videos back.

A PUK lock is part of a security system for older phones which integrates the SIM card into the phone’s unlock process. The PUK lock code is held by your carrier and they usually provide a service to retrieve your PUK code. Today, the carrier we are working with is Telstra who generously still provides PUK unlocking at the following URL:
https://www.telstra.com.au/support/mobiles-devices/unlock-sim-puk

The carrier will usually require the phone number, the name of the account owner and their date of birth to provide the PUK code but it is a pretty straight forward process. Once you have the code, enter it into your phone and you should be shown the welcome screen of your now unlocked phone.

If you are having trouble getting your PUK unlock code or are having difficulties using the PUK code to unlock your phone, feel free to contact us. We have many methods available to us that do not require the carrier to give you an unlock code.

We unlocked the phone and copied off all the data for the customer and they were very happy with the outcome.
